Lilongwe musicians team up for Christmas charity
It is that time again for giving, receiving and sharing. It is the festive season, the time Christians celebrate the birth of their saviour Jesus Christ, and the time when the world as a whole celebrates the dawn of a new year.
Expressing their heart of giving and sharing, urban musicians in the capital city Lilongwe have organised a music show whose aim is to raise money that will benefit needy children at Kamuzu Central Hospital’s pediatric ward.
As it is called ‘Faith of the Speakers- Fundraising Urban Music Show’, through the music event scheduled to take place at Lilongwe Town Hall this Friday, the artists will be generating funds they will use to cheer the sick children on Christmas day.
As he discloses his passionate about being a positive influence in the community, Phyzix aka Gamba of ‘Cholapitsa’ fame, one of capital city and the country’s hip-hop icons, calls for “every human being’s support” towards the sick children at the central hospital in the central region.
Phyzix, who resides in the same neighbourhood with Lilia, Area 25, promises a grand performance on Friday afternoon.
Among other acts, there will be Anne Matumbi, X-Movement, Riandy, H-Spade, Lilia, Blasto, Pittie Boiz, Thange, Black Agon and Mady P.—(Reporting by Kimpho Loka, Nyasa Times)
